Well, I ordered a NG VN hawk from 1sks.com and it came to me in good time. I finally got to play with it yesterday. It took me a couple of throws to get back into the groove, since I haven't thrown for about 3 years. This thing is awesome! Bad part is, I am gonna need a few more so I don't have to keep running to pull it out of the target so much. Thanks to ATC and 1Sks.com for this great tool. Now all I have to do is get my wife to get me a RR hawk for our anniversary and I will be set, maybe one with the hook ground into it for effect.

Thank you VERY much for sharing your remarks here John.

There are few things more rewarding than the "thunking" sound of steel in wood from a thrown Hawk!!! Especially when it can be done at will, and several times in a row.

At the heart of it for many of us here on the forum, and for ATC's Founders and Staff in particular which I can say with certainty, throwing is what it's ALL about... ;)

Enjoy and be safe!

That's great, John! My NG Ranger is coming verrry soon. You will have to get one of the new ones with a wider cutting bevel. It looks even more beautiful and works better. I would highly recommend the Vietnam Tactical as well as the RR Spike. What kind of target are you throwing the hawk at?

A large hunk of old oak. It isn't the end grain, it is more like a side It appears to have been from a fairly old and large tree. I will get some more throwing time in tonight. I couldn't get a solid stick after making successful contact in an hour of throwing, so maybe my arm was tired, or it could have been the tree telling me it was tired. We'll see if we both got enough rest tonight. Thanks for the warm welcome fellas.
