First attempt at a Loveless Drop Point Hunter

Well, here it is:

It started out as a Loveless style drop point hunter ... but I don't have much of a workshop, just a Grizzly and a drill press -so I didn't attempt a pinned & soldered guard. Instead, I think it ended up more like a Dozier! Either way, both are very fine makers.

(It's also made of D2, cryo'ed and hardened to HRC 61 by Paul Bos. That finish is a buffed 220 grit -it's practically a mirror!).

The handle slabs are polished Desert Ironwood (looks 3D in person).

Sorry about the crappy pic, just put it on a cheap Ikea table and took a picture.

Looks like a damn fine knife to me, great grind on the blade. What size is the blade and handle? Looks very usable.

If that's what you can make in a limited workshop, keep going if that's what you can make, I sure there are buyers here that would be proud to take that off your hands. What about a sheath for it?

I like it! Great grind on the blade.

Where's the custom made sheath for this beauty?

Thanks for the comments guys!

It was ground on an 8" wheel and I still have to make a sheath for it. Blade length is: 3.75", overall: 8.75". Thickness: 3/16".

Here's another I made tonight, it was ground on a 10" wheel (stainless steel hardware and black canvas micarta scales):

Very nice. On a knife that small, that 10" wheel darn near gives you a flat grind if the pic is accurate.

It looks like a very attractive blade to me. I prefer the grind from the 8" wheel, as it gives the blade a grind/profile similar to a Sebenza (which I like).

I like the first one better, but they're both very nice knives!

How much would something like the first one (maybe with Micarta scales, I'm cheap  ) set a person back?
