I made this for a customer, it was my first attempt at a Loveless style Drop Point Hunter. Of course, there's a bit of me thrown in there, too.

The 4" blade (3/16" thick) is forged from 608 layers of 5160/L-6 damascus steel and a tapered tang. The guard is "frontier-canister" damascus. The handle scales are Sambar stag with red liners, contoured stainless steel handle bolts and an open lanyard. Tess nicely carved the gentleman's initials into the fully tooled pouch sheath.

What do you think?

I like it.... It turned out great.
But I'm going to give you another opinion too.... which is a critism.
Feel free to take it or leave it.
It looks a little to busy for me.
But the fit and finish all look great!

It looks pretty good but to be sure you did a good job you better let me have it to make sure it performs as good as it looks;) . I think it looks darn good there J.

I like it J. How did you like the 3/167" on that size knife? I find I am liking that thickbess more and more.
Great looking knife

Looks damn good J. see I told you I am sure you have it nailed, great sheath Tess

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

The 3/16" works pretty well for a heavy duty type small knife. I've been doing so many 1/4" Scandi-Bushcraft knives lately this seemed almost slender.

Walking Man-Thank you for your comment and I can see your point. I appreciate comments both + & -. If we didn't get criticism, we'd never improve... and that goes double for me.

You're welcome. I think too many people are just scared that they will get pounced on if they offer an opinion. It's a great knife, and I've seen some Lovelesses, okay, many Lovelesses that I have found just downright BORING! It's nice to see a fresh take on it.

J Walking Man has a good point but I think that again it is all in the eye. I "assume" (not a good thing) that he is talking about the visual going from the 608 layer 5160/L-6 to the Frontier damacus guard. The grain is different in that the blade is fine and the guard is a little course. Also the grain does run in different directions which does catch your eye. But all in all, as I sit looking at it while I write this, this is probably the nicest knife I have in my collection. The stag is deep and I think I saw some moss growing in it. All in all though thanks again J and I am looking forward to seeing you after the show. Walking Man you had a great point and not being a maker you have given me another point to ponder when making a decission while commissioning another knife to be built or when just buying one off a table.

Thanks Changlong. I appreciate that and welcome to the forums. Don't worry, alot of the english floating around here is bad. Just check some of my past posts. :D

Thanks for all the comments from everyone else as well.
