Well, I decided I needed a sheath for my SH-A and managed to track down some basic supplies over the past few days:
- 7/32" thick leather
- brown leather dye (smelled more like stale old wine than dye)
- brown shoe polish
- contact cement
- needles and thread
- Olfa cutter
- steel ruler
- dremel with press and 3/64" bit (this wasn't easy to find here !)
I gave it a go yesterday, it's a bit crude and rough around the edges, and it's not totally finished, but I learned a lot in the process. It still needs a snap and a couple of D's here and there (leg-ties), but it should at least do the job till I get back to civilisation !
The pouch is 7/8" thick (five layers), it is 3 3/8" wide, and 14 3/8" long.
