I gutted the paracord so it wouldn't be so thick and I am not quit sure how to retain the end without anything hanging out I am going to see how long it stays together

Your first attempt is better than my 40th attempt 😂. I would use more paracord so you have something to hold while tightening the knot down. Getting the paracord wet has helped me in the past, tightens as it drys. That’s a excellent first attempt 👍. Someone will come along shortly and explain the process..

Nice knife by the way 👍

Is that "real" paracord from Atwood? Looks a bit weird to me...you can dip the paracord in boiling water for 30sec and it will become a bit more stretchy, then wrap it.

Can’t remember the brand. I usually buy 50 feet at a time about every 2 years or so. I’ll definitely try the boiling water 👍👍

If you got coated bade you can pour some boiling water on the wrap to shrink it. It will tighten the wrap nicely. I would not do it with uncoated blades though risking that you rust the knife.

I like to bury the tails under the wrap if I can to keep them in place then dip the wrapped handle in boiling water for 30 seconds or so to shrink the cord and tighten everything in place. This is my PFD knife I did couple years back, I've had no problems and really like the clean look.
