I've done Titanium anodizing for many years but have never tried using a stencil to create patterns or pictures. I tried cutting my own stencil from metal duct tape I had left over. I was trying to make a Golden Eagle but it didn't really work out at all like I wanted - although the gold color did come out well in the right light but the Eagle looks more like a chicken pecking feed
:
So I decided for go over it with 'brush anodizing' which left it like this:
Colors are fairly intense due to the polished Titanium surface but also due to the angle of over head light shining on it to bring out the color. At most angles it won't be this intensely bright. I use a variable 0-150 volt DC power supply. When dipping a knife this type of power supply makes it handy to roll the voltage up as I'm pulling it out of solution so as to create a continuous variation in color. On this knife I only did a dip with voltage roll on the last quarter inch or so of the tip near the clip.
