Got my first Becker ever for Christmas and love it! I was really worried about the sheath after reading all the stories on here, but I took a chance and pulled the knife in and out about 30 times and still paper/hair shaving sharp. Still may look into making or buying a leather sheath from someone on here. I'll have to read about how to do it, I'd like to try myself. Also have about $50 in gift money to look at something to go with the BK2, just not sure what exactly.

Congratulations!!!

BK-2 is a classic. Very nice starter knife as it will surely last you a life time.

Awesome, Zee! Don't be afraid to put that knife to work. It's a little beast and needs to be fed to stay happy.

OK! Took all your advice and just ordered the BK 14 to go with that BK2. How many Beckers does it take to be a Beckerhead? Guess I have to own and use one for more than 1 day! Maybe by this time next year when they're beat up a little!

0-10 Are slots that have been made for Honorary Beckerhead People that have been intimate in the Becker Knife and Tool evolution, and working members of the Beckerheads. You may or my not see posts or threads started by them, but they have earned their place amongst the Beckerheads, none the less.

11-200 are slots for members that have met the requirements necessary to call themselves Beckerhead, and may use their Beckerhead number as they wish.

You *may* request a particular number AFTER you qualify, but it's just a request. Numbers too far ahead of the end are pushing it

Get a kydex sheath with the $50. Don't want edge dulling. Azwelke is a great option.

I've been debating that all day, since my sheath seems ok, I figured I'd wait and drop the rest on the bk14. I do want a kydex and have been looking at Azwelke sheaths along with ebay $20 specials. I think I'll just save for Azwelke because he seems to have a good rep on here and seems to go to a lot of effort in creating his sheaths.

Thanks for the info!

Azwelke, 710, Godspeed, Kiah, and so many more great kydex sheath makers on here, its sometimes too difficult to pick a particular maker to cover your sweet steel.

I have one from each and I will tell you, you can't go wrong with any of them. There are also some great leather stitchers too.

I'm going to have to do something. I have to take back my previous statement of the sheath being ok. I'm already getting really frustrated with this nylon loop part. I've tried tying it back with paracord to make it like a belt loop but then the knife is too top heavy on my belt. I can get a tec-lok and put it in place of the loop. Nobody around here sells them so now I have to debate on ordering it. I should have listened to Febeleh and got a sheath, but couldn't resist ordering the 14. Being in Florida, I think I need a kydex instead of leather due to the humidity.

Nice! Just came in!

I also got one of these bad boys after many minutes of debate. Instead i am looking for a nice leather sheath and scales but cant seem to find any sellers as i am new to the forum as well. After having this knife for 3 days i have taken out 3 trees and processed much fire wood. I would like scales that wont slip like the grivory, and have a nice look as well. Any information on this qould be greatly appreciated!

There are a lot of good people here on the forum who make leather sheaths and scales too. Leather, check out Skystorm and Sagewood Gear. Tommythewho makes a nice variety of wood scales or you can always go for Micarta from Tomar's.
