I can't decide.
BK9 or BK2?

My plans for the blade will be for use when camping or backpacking. I want to start with the best option for now. I'm sure I will have both at some point, but can't afford both right now.
I've seen great things said about both, but I just can't decide.

Thanks in advance

Go with the BK2, its a little cheaper and a good entry into the BKT world. You won't have to worry about breaking it, it will be by your side through thick and thin, for better or worse, til death do you part.

So, get some cake, invite your friends over, go spend some time with a couple of other knives, because as soon as you click confirm order, you're gonna be married to your BK2.

Its Ok, though, once you're past the honeymoon phase, youre BK2 won't mind you foolin' around with other BKT's, as long as you still feed it regular. :D

I liked the 9 as my first.

Got a few 2's after a while, gave two away and kept one for a loaner. I just don't care for the 2 myself but others find it simply irresistable!

If it were me, I would go for the 9 again in a heart beat.

Both are good choices.

I went with the BK2 first then got the BK9 a while later. Honestly... I think I might use my BK9 more than my BK2, but recently I've been doing more with my 2 just so it doesn't get lonely, and it hasn't disappointed at all.

However, once the tweeners are out, I'm not sure how much carry time the BK2 will be getting. Between the BK17 and BK9 I don't really know what else I'd need. So that is something else to consider as well.

Good luck man :D.

Ooooo tough choice. I'd say bk2. The only reason I say that is that when you see the work the little beast can do you will be itching for the big dog.

ill agree with this. i have the BK9 and i do like it but its a bit too beefy on some occasions. the BK2 i think would be a better well rounded knife for your first BK. like also mentioned, when you buy one, it wont be your last.

I would go with the BK2.
I use it more than my 9.
I think it is a better all round knife.IMO.

Thanks for the help. I'm gonna start with the BK2.
I'll let all of you know when its in my hands. :)

Brilliant post Moose!

BK2 was my first. Fell in love with its versatility. Oh, I also thought it looked cool.

BK2 is not bad... go for that.

though i'd order a BK14 too, too useful not too :)

The BK9 is what made me fall in love with knives in the first place, however the best answer is get both :D

BK2 is the first Becker i have owned and i have to say it is pretty awesome that would be a good choice all round stout fits in the hand real nice and keeps a nice edge. Go for the 2 man you won't be sorry

After a little haggling, I pulled the trigger on the BK2. I now officially own my very first Becker!
