Hey guys,
I'm hoping you all can help me out here. I'm looking to get my first becker but I'm not sure which one to get. It'll be used as my camp knife if that helps with the recommendation process. Right now I like the 9 and 5 the most right now but I feel that the 9 would be too much for what i'm doing and that somewhat has me leaning towards getting a tweener. I can only afford to get one so I know some people will say get them all but for the time being as much as I want that to be an option it's not. So any help is appreaciated.

If by camp knife, you mean food prep, light chopping work etc, the 5 looks to be a good choice. If you mean processing firewood, the 2 is indestructable. If you're doing primative living stuff, the machax or 9 would be hard to beat. Currently my becker collection consists of a raggedy old beat up necker and a 16. Next month I'm adding the Machax and the 14 to the fold. Guys on here can help you out better than I can. I am just repeating crap I've read lol :p

sounds like a BK15 might serve u well, or any of the tweeners really....they are made for the work u describe.

Yeah I like the 5 but I haven't really heard anything about it.

I've had mine for over a decade. I have nothing bad to say about it except it can be a big too long for detail work. Team it up with a BK-15 and a good tomahawk and you can take on anything.

Also, when you get your 5, post up some pics for us! Good luck in getting your first Becker. 5 is a good choice for what you're looking to do.

if ur not doing heavy batoning or chopping..the 15 will serve u and be less weight and bulk...but the 5 is a hella good knife, I like mine a lot.
