So I bought my first Benchmade for my 18th birthday bought the 87 through blade hq, and when it arrived to my the blade was pretty off center so I shipped it back to Benchmade (Blade hq had offered to help out my predicament) and it was sent into Benchmade on October 18th, didn't make it back to me until about 50 days later and when I received it literally nothing had been done to it, I had requested a new handle/refinish my current one handle, fix the rub that occurred on the blade, center it and inspect the rust I was experiencing I even talked to Torri Sether whom informed me that the wear I was seeing was from normal use. No other part! I repeat no other part of my handles / blade have rub just a very small part on the blade and handle, so that is why I feel it's from normal use you would see wear on both surfaces of the safe handle I really like the knife but the quality control is just garbage and the warranty Dept at Benchmade was worthless they stayed in contact with me and were very pleasant but when my knife returned with no work done I was pretty livid, also the latch is a joke I have to take mine apart about every other day to quiet it, I feel like most of the noise comes from the magnets moving inside of their very sloppily cut hole, they must've let a blunt apprentice with a gouge go at this thing where's the "precision machining" and in my experience of having a bear ops song 4, would've rather bought five more of them than this knife as their customer service far exceeds the price point of the knife

Ye I tried when I first put up this post I don't think blade forums likes phones. Yes, yes Benchmade did piss in my Cheerios, my coffee and all over my pants

here is a the alignment (have to take my latch back off to get a good picture/ if anything isn't good enough, let me know and ill retake with a real camera and add them to the imgur)
the rust(this is the only one taken with a real camera) and the rub on the handle, again not very clear because of phone camera but i can take a better picture
they tried to tell me that obvious rust was part of the grain structure/finish of the knife. i find this very unlikely as it grew while out of my possession and a simple rub of that part removes most surface rust but those darker spots are PITS that do not rub away... might end up taking it entirely apart and refinishing the blade to a mirror finish

Guess I've just been lucky but every single BM I've ever purchased has been pretty much perfect straight out of the box. I didn't even read your entire post because it started to run together but it sounds like yours wasn't up to snuff. Anyway, good luck on your entire ordeal as that does suck to wait almost two months to get it back from BM.

I did totally let that run there, probably because I've been tilted about this shit for months and needed to vent about the bullshit.
