First blood....in a while

Been a while since checked in, and even longer since I drew blood (at least on myself!)

My annual xmas knife got me. Sometimes the xmas knife is a token (it was this year) and sometimes it isn't. This year, it was a little lockback Buck (2.6") with a 1.5" blade meant for a keychain.

It seems that factories are getting better at sharpening...all this little bugger needed was a couple swipes on the 204 to make it very sharp...at least sharp enough to make me misjudge its abilities and plunge it into my thumb! If the nail hadn't gotten in the way...it would have happily continued.

I bled like a stuck pig, but what a smooth cut!

Very pleased with the knife (l'il bastard!),

Any other nicks?

I got myself with my recently purchased Ka-Bar Dozier, split the end of my index finger by letting the knife snap shut and not getting out of the way fast enough.

I "gently" sliced my thumb a few days ago at work while showing one of my workers how quickly I can open my Benchmade 805s TSEK....(Thankfully, it wasn't a BAD slice, but just enough for me to realize that I need to be alittle bit more carefull when showing off.:D.).

Dodo, first day I got it. ;)

Opening and closing infront of the computer (I usually play with something at the PC) (not that something. ), my pinky was up against the rear bump, closed it right on my finger. The tip just caught me.

Spyderco should have made the blade a bit shorter, so you can have your pinky up against the bump when you close it.

My coworker got a nasty one from a knive in the store. And when I say "knife" I really mean Paul Chen Practical Plus Wakizashi.
Children: "Don't you have any sharp swords?
Jeremy: "Ooooooooooh..."
:::: goes to cut the wak through a pice of paper:::
Children: "Dude! Your thumb is still on it!!!"
It only took off part of the pad on his thumb. He was already starting to bandage it up by the time the kids pointed out the piece of skin that was still on the blade.
He showed the wound to me today (he can now remove the dressing) and it is quite gross indeed.

As for me, I'm only getting cut with my Spyderfly for now.

shhh, lets not talk about this, its like voodoo. my sak got me last year, lets not jinxs it. i was kinda hoping ( sp?) for never again thank you ;)

I was watching a movie, and had out my Busse to fondle. After returing form a snack re-fill, I was gropping around in the dark saying "Where did I put that thing?" Then it bit me on the wrist. :D

Nothing more than a nick for me in a long while. I guess I'm due.

Cut some cardboard with my CalyJr this morn, and lightly touched the blade to my index finger, near the nail. Bled more than it hurt, nice clean nick. :o

Recently I was playing with my son's Benchmade 42 Balisong and I accidently swung it by the wrong handle. :o The sharp edge hit my right index right at the knuckle. Knucklehead move on my part.

I've carried at least one knife on me at all times since I was 5 years old. I'm only 23 now but I've only cut myself once and that once was about 8 years ago and resulted in 4 stitches between my first finger and thumb. I guess I'm lucky that way, and sort of unlucky that the only time resulted that way.

A year ago tho I cut the tip of my ring finger open on the lid to a tin can that someone carelessly tossed into the trash. That resulted in 3 stitches. Then a few years before I was pushed through a double pane sliding glass door by my bestfriend... Had a foot long piece stuck in my back, they removed it and put what had to be over 40 or 50 stitches in me. A month later I still had sharp pains in my back and come to find out they left a 3" piece in me, so cut cut pull pull stitch stitch again. I got more stories but I've already gone far off topic..

while i was taping one of my tricks it bit me :D it sliced about a centemeter threw the web of my hand. its hard to see but you can bairly make out a dark line under the blood that goes down to the second "sparkle of blood", thats the cut.
