As the title says I just finished up my first Bowie knife last week, for a friend/customer. My hat's are off to those maker's that do these knives regularly, there is a lot of thought/work that goes into one of these, especially making sure the lines flow properly from blade to handle. I learned a fair bit working through this project and am quite happy with the result at the end of the day, but I am going to stick making a few full tang knives so I can avoid "the dance of the tiny file" fitting up guards for the next little bit!
The specs on this one:
CPM 154 3/16" thick heat treated to 60 RC, OAL 17" handle is curly maple with a tru oil finish (no stain) as specified by the new owner.

As much work as this one was it is always worth the effort when you hand the finished product to the new owner in person and can see the reaction to your work. I appreciate any feedback as like most knifemakers I am always trying to improve my skills. Thanks for looking.
