This is my first attempt at a Bowie design and I would like to ask for some input in the overall design concept. Should the tang go all the way through to the pommel? What else on this doesn't seem right?

To me it is far to angular/straight. Try smoothing out some of the transitions and adding some curvature to straight portions. Proportions of the clip seem off as and the angle between blade and handle seems excessive.

There are a few issues with the sketch. I think you should google custom bowie knives to get a general idea of how they look.

Here's a wip I did for my first bowie to give you an idea of all the steps involved in making one. Its not an easy process, especially if its your first knife.

It's not my first knife, but the concept is quite a bit different from the full tang drop points and skinners I started with and have been working on lately. There are a few different elements that I seem to be struggling with, such as the clip and the hidden tang. I am back to the drawing board and hope to have an update to post tonight.

Ok, I got rid of the straight lines. I changed the angle of the pitch on the handle. I also added a bit of a recurve to the spine. Thoughts? Am I getting close?
