FIRST Buck Alpha Hunter Fixed w/guthook and Rubber Handles

Hello all, I was at my uncle's house and we got to talking about knives. He told me how he has the very first of 2500 Buck Alphas. He showed me the knife, and the engraving that read "1 of 2500" He told me he went to Bass Pro and the salesman was giving a presentation. The salesman showed him how grippy it was even when wet. He was sold. I was wondering if that run was special, because they are still on Knife Center. Any help is appreciated.
P.S. He said that it is a great skinner.

I hope someone knows the answer because I have one without the gut hook with the engraving. I don't have the knife with me but could it be first run in Idaho?

I think EB nailed this for you 9first issued from ID). Also the 1 of 2500 means just what it written, it's one of the 2500 made, all are etched the same. So it's not the very first one of the 2500 made.
