Got my first one showing up tomorrow. Got a good deal on an INFIDU with orange G10 coming. Not sure if I'm gonna go leather or kydex.. Belt loop or dangler. Mashed Cat has some nice sheaths but I'm not a fan of that nylon webbing for a belt loop. Opinions?

Mashedcat makes a great sheath. I just received one with a very rigid drop loop. I asked Eric if it would be possible to run the back flap over the mounting bracket to stiffen it up a bit and it worked like a charm. He even left enough adjustment at the top bend to set it in the standard position if you prefer a little flop.

Top is in the rigid position, bottom is the standard version:

Eric at Mashed Cat does great work and is a great guy.

If he can not fix you up.

Maybe go with both :)
I do my Leather/kydex Mutant © sheaths :)

Leather on the show side and kydex on the go side :)

I also do a leather drop
Or a kydex and Rubber drop

Eric sheaths are bombproof and he's a cool dude to deal with.

I have used many of both Dave's Buy Brown and Eric's Mashed Cat kydex and they are both excellent quality with no fitment issues, probably two of the best kydex benders around for Bussekin. For smaller blades I do prefer the smaller footprint of Dave's one piece foldover/taco style over the two piece pancake style if there is any chance of wanting/needing to do a horizontal belt carry. For a blade that is only going to be vertical carry in very dirty or wet environments, Eric's drainage system is slightly more efficient. I have had/tried other makers kydex that came with a knife on the exchange and usually find myself going back to either BB or MC for keepers due to better design & fitment.

My EDC on my belt for the past 4 years is in a front horizontal carry BB kydex and the EDC on my tractor is in a MC sheath.

The BB mutant sheath is actually really nice way to have smooth stiff kydex against your cloths with the leather look for everyone else to see. I love mine for my TG14. The sheath on the left is a Chuddy Bear leather, another great option.

Congrats on the Busse purchase, I bet you are as excited as a kid at Xmas. Those are amazing sheaths that David makes. What would one of the tooled leather jobs set a guy back?

Awesome thanks guys. I've been on a HUGE SURVIVE! Knives kick for a while and their maker Kiahdex Sheaths has THE best kydex I've ever had so I'm spoiled I guess. The MashedCat is awesome according to my buddy that got his for his RMD yesterday. But damn Dave those mutants are SICK! I'm gonna check for pricing on yours and if I can swing it I'll get one ordered up and just request you put in a decent sized drainage hole like Eric does on his because you never know what'll happen when you're out and I don't own safe queens :)

Keep it coming though I like this thread already. And they said Busse guys weren't cool.. 😉 lol kidding I swear

Enjoy that INFI and do not sell it.
PM sent.
Swinecosa.

Thanks man. I m hope it compares to my 3V and S35VN stuff. I doubt I'll be selling it, one of my best buds got his RMD yesterday and said it feels about perfect in hand. The only thing that has kept me from Busse's knives are that they're usually so thick. I camp, hike, and hunt a lot so a big heavy knife doesn't do it for me. 3/16" is my limit and a 5-6" blade is my sweet spot so when I found a good deal on the INFIDU I had to jump on it. It shows up today so I'm excited to see what the hype is about. Wish it had a sheath already though lol

You do this only with pancake style or also with taco style. I have a swatmandu blue and black coming and I am looking for alternatives.

Thanks guys I spoke to Eric at MashedCat and I'm having him do a sheath for me that will line up with a SagewoodGear leather adapter. If you haven't seen them I'd definitely check them out.. I use them on all my SURVIVE! Knives sheaths and love em.

Kydex is the way to go. I like leather but kydex is a lot less hassle. Especially in wet weather.
