Hey all,

I have already decided to pick up a S1. However, I seem to have caught the bug you all are passing around and would like a Busse. Even though they cost much more than I like to spend on a knife that will be used. What are your thoughts on the badger attack. Does anyone know if they can still be purchased from the store? Any LE's available? How does the Badger compare to the present offering of the ASH 1? Are these knives users or too pretty and mostly for collection? I know that they CAN be used - but the question is SHOULD they used?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I agree with the previous reply. If you're willing to spend the money (and they're up there) on the cost of a Busse, then you better use it! Otherwise, you've wasted a bunch of hard-earned money on a chunk of steel that sits in your sock drawer. Knives were made to do one thing: CUT.

Thanks for your quick comments. It may be academic at this point as I think the badger's are gone!!!

There is no question that they should be used.

They are real purty and sometimes it's hard to bring yourself to use something that's real purty, just ask yourself "if I were alone with (hot actress of your choice here) would I "take care of business" or just stare at her?

A good knife is like a beautiful companion, totally worthless if not put to proper use.

I'm going to hide now.

You spend the $$ on a Busse for the steel (yes, I know the design is also outstanding) so it doesn't make sense not to use it. If you want a safe queen I would say spend the money on fancy materials or designs. Busses do have a "beauty" all their own, but (to me) it comes from their functionality.

Besides the fact that you pretty much CAN'T hurt it, you can always send it in for re-conditioning if it really just got too ugly for you! Most Busse people like them better after they've been beat on real good, just check out the Busse forum. Also, it doesn't seem to hurt the resale that much- if you can part with it.
