Howdy all,
I didn't think it was appropriate to post here until I was an official owner/operator. I just got in the mail my very first Busse knife. It's a CG ASH1 I bought off of another member for a great deal ;)

I just want to say already how impressed I am with the F&F as well as the ergos of the handle. As an avid backpacker and trekker in Colorado, I love hearing about how tough these knives are in extreme conditions. I began to understand the value of a hard use bush knife with ESEE and naturally I wanted to explore the Busse phenom. I look forward to learning a lot here. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the Forum, burddogg!!! Glad you like the ASH-1, it's a great knife! :)

But as a Mod here, I am tasked with asking...

WHERE'S THE PIX, MAN???

;) :D:D:D

Please feel free to kick up yer feet & stay awhile!

Congrats on the ASH1  It's a sweet one :)
That's the same knife that introduced me to Busse Knives. What's the blade and handle? Mine was the double cut and black G10 :D

I'd suggest you take a look at the ASH1 LE or skinny ASH  It's even better for backpacking

Pics or it didn't happen ;)

Welcome to the madness :)

A great choice for #1. Use it and enjoy it!

Welcome burddogg! You started off picking a great blade. I can't wait to see some pics of it out in the great wilds of CO. :)

Of course, where are my manners.

Came with a nice sheath, but I think the kydex is striping the blade. Any other sheath recommendations? I like that this one has the extra pocket for a MSK. Thank you for the warm welcome. :D

Sweet ASH, looks great. Enjoy the honeymoon while it lasts, that's just the beginning. It starts with one piece of INFI, and then things start to get a little out of hand.

Welcome Burddogg. Prepare your credit card(s) for battle... it's a rough ride this infi game.

As for the sheath, you can heat the liner with a heat gun insert knife and move it around a bit to give it the clearance you need. Not sure if you have a Harbor Freight store in your area, but they sell cheapo heat guns for about $15. It's cheaper than a new sheath. :)

Nice!

Someone else will know more about this than me...but I think that you might be able to remove and re-mold the kydex liner in that sheath for a better fit to the ASH-1. Maybe try a search under "kydex liners" in the Search This Forum box near the top right-hand side of this forum's main page. Another idea is to mosey over to the Sheaths & Such sub-Forum and ask the good folks over there. :)

Can anyone help burddogg with this? :) (EDIT: Thanxx, kdstrick!)

My 85 Jeep CJ7 was practically put back together thanks to the Harbor Freight down the street! I have a heat gun and will try to give it a go. Really, if it's just cosmetic, I don't care. Just one of those things. Thank you for the help

If it's going to be a user and the liner isn't too tight to remove the blade, you might want to keep it as is. The coating is going to wear anyway and I bet there is no rattle no matter what you do right now.

Very Nice!

I just got my first a few days ago, a BWM LE. I was going to wait to get my KZII LE before posting pics. That ASH looks like a great user though.

The ASH is a very nice first Busse. If you ever find another sheath and don't like the one that originally came with the knife, you know who to get in touch with :).

see what had happen was, I would run while i could, the infi addiction is no joke and currently there is no ii anonymous at the moment.
