Good Catch! It is one of my favorite blades. NOW, STRIP IT, just ask TinFoilHat Timmy!

You picked a good one for your first. Watch it, they will multiply, as your your bank balance diminishes. But it's a heck of a fun ride. Great site for further information is Busse Bad Mojo. Good luck, and welcome to The Madness.

I heard about this...Is this just for the nice esthetics? Any performance benefit?
I have several Esee coated blades and no issues what so ever.

No performance benefit, merely aesthetic. For me, it turns the knife from a closet queen into a user knife. I typically put an approximately 20 degree edge on it.

Being a Busse guy for many years now, my one recommendation to a first time Busse owner is to have a good edge put on her right away... Busse knives typically don't come with an impressive edge. I had my tglb for a long time before putting a good edge on it...an I enjoyed it MUCH more afterwards an really fell in love with the knife at that point.. my 2 cents
