I'm headed off to Blade show, and all too often I make horrible, HORRIBLE decisions on impulse buys. After looking at all the knives on the Busse website, and seeing all the threads posted here on Bladeforums, I would like to get some good opinions on what a good starting knife would be, so that if I end up not being able to decide, I won't get screwed in the end by not buying the best knife I can buy.

I would bet that some of the most recent will be available. It really depends on what you want. I would suggest the BOSS Jack, but you can turn just about any Busse and try another at no loss.

The Team Gemini isn't a bad knife, it balances well and looks like a KABAR on steroids.

Also, if you're bad on impulse purchases, just wait. There's the tactical gear expo along with Blade this year  :D

It can be a little crazy at BLADE SHOW..so I suggest this...

1. Get to the booth EARLY:) Get in the front..it will not be easy:)

2. DO NOT BE NICE..many Hogs, Dogs and Rat's will try to be (well:D)... Heck they want some AWESOME blades...they will trample you and try to outwit you as well.

3. This is a MUST...

ENJOY THE BLADE SHOW!!! It is a great time!!!

Probably a good point. I'll only be there one day so I'll most likely be at other, not terribly crowded booths most of the time.

Oh nooo....

Find the booth (It will not be hard I promise) :)

What day?

Probably the second day. I'll see what the situation looks like, for sure--I just might not make it to the front. There's a lot of knives to see in so little time.

What will the primary uses be for the knife in question? Without knowing that, it would be impossible to make any recommendation IMO!

It's really hard to give a good advice here. I personally didn't regret buying any busse knife so far. But from what I learned on the forums and from my own experience you cannot go wrong with any of the following models, because they can be considered "all time classics". There are many more, of cause, but I limit the list to my personal favorites:

- CGFBM: combat grade fusion battle mistress
- saber ground SFNO: special forces natural outlaw
- NMSFNO: nuclear meltdown special forces natural outlaw
- skinny ASH-1: anniversary steel heart in 0.195 inch thickness
- HHFSH: Heavy Heart Fusion Steel Heart

If you are able to grab any of those, you will not be disappointed

There is a promise of many new, never before seen/offered knives at Blade this year. You'll have to be quick to get one (I've never been but the pictures and stories sound wild). I'd say get a Battle Mistress--any Battle Mistress.

Sound advice.
