Hey guys long time lurker first time poster. Been a long time blade collector but have just now started drooling over Busse and kin. Unfortunately with so much money tied into other blades, a baby on the way, and cuts at work I've just been drooling so far. Until tonight that is. Cruising the bay randomly put in an offer on a used Scrapyard 511 (pretty good shape). He was asking 150 we eventually settled on 117.50 ( I got caught in the dealing fever.). My question is A. Did I get ripped off? And B. Are there any reasonable leather sheaths available for this model? Really had my heart set on a Swamp Rat but everyone has to start somewhere.

The 511 was my first Bussekin blade and I still love it. Others will chime in on the leather sheath issue as I'm more of a kydex guy. I'd be very happy with the price you paid. You got a good deal but be warned, it's the thin end of a very addictive wedge :)

Thank you sir. Just from the digging I did here I didn't feel too worried about it, but I wanted the experts opinions as well. On the sheath subject, I don't hate Kydex and I always have a fixed ziptied to my plate carrier, but I much prefer leather for every other use. I think the 511 might be overkill on the chest rig (currently occupied by a Jarosz globetrotter) and Kydex is far easier to find if I do decide to get one in the future

I'd say that was a good score  Congrats !! and welcome, so now what's next on the list ???? Lol :D

Ratmandu I believe. Got a gareth bull custom I'm trying to trade/sell to fund :). And thanks for the welcome this is the first sub other than the exchange I've really posted in

If you like the 511 you will love the RMD. Flat out one of the best knives on the market today. You will not be disappointed.

Well I don't think you can go wrong with a Ratmandu, pretty awesome knife  if you don't mind a wait check out the Busse website the SOS son of swat is available. It's a sized down version of Ratmandu, but you'll have to act fast cause last call was already posted, so they will be coming down soon !!!

That said, if you order it today, you only need $1. You don't get billed for the finished product until it is ready which is anywhere from 4-14 weeks from the time you order it.

Congrats and welcome to the madness. The only way I see you doing better than a Ratmandu is if you get an Infimandu. Great blade!

Nice price for the 511. Patriot, Chuddy Bear, Armorall will all do you right on leather. Expect to pay in the $80-$100 range. $50 for Kydex or Nylon. Great Kydex guys on the forum... Welcome to the madness. Soon you'll be scouring your home for things to sell to get your first piece on Infi. It's the only way that this path leads.

I have lots of love for the RMD, but the 511 is almost exactly the same blade but in a lighter package. The handle and full tang being the difference between the two.

Patriot is actually located in one of the cities I work in. Less than 45 minutes away. Maybe I can sweet talk a hometown discount [emoji6]

Welcome Seminole, and I agree, ya done good on the 511!!

Now run while you can, lest Operation Two Weeks suck you into the INFI Addicts Club like the rest of us!!! --- :D
