Stephen Liley at Coal Creek Forge is awesome! Most fun I have had buying a blade ever!
So, I talked with Stephen for the first time on the Wednesday before Memorial Day and had a custom hawk in my hands on Tuesday after the holiday. This just doesn't happen in the real world. I think he has forging elves working with him. You can hardly order a factory knife and get it that quickly.

I took it to a local sheathmaker and he has had it since then, so now I can finally brag about my purchase and Stephen's work. I plan on using it when I go camping and maybe learn to throw it, so I got it with a little rougher finish. I like the file work because it just gives it a more custom look. I love the look of his spike hawks but I couldn't think of a use for the spike so I went with the hammer.

Anyway, I could go on and on about Stephen's phenomenal service and craftsmanship. He's fun to talk with and just wants to you to be pleased with your new toy. If you are thinking about a Coldsteel or some other factory hawk forget about it and get a creation from Coal Creek.

Here are Stephen's pics (green background) and mine.

I can see why you are excited about your hawk. It is uniquely yours and good looking hawk. What is there not to like?

That is one very fine looking hawk. Really like the file work and the forged finished head.
Thanks for showing !

Steve IS the forging elf ;-))) Congrats, great hawk and a great guy to deal with.
