I couldn't stand it - the pattern on the Wilson Combat StarTac Umnumzaan got my attention. I had wanted something memorable - my first SS retirement check was due Wednesday. A long time knife slut, I had never spent half that much on a single knife before. I had to see if the hype was deserved. I ordered mine Monday - the brown truck was in my driveway Thursday. Simple answer - it is!

I thought it was stiff in opening initially. Either I have grown accustomed to it's stiffness - or the grease spread out from use - and it did get better. Lockup is impressive - as is the sharpness. As I usually do upon arrival of a new pocket knife, I removed it's clip and stowed it in the box. They just feel better in my hand less the clip - and ride in my pocket, anyway. It is a great EDC - even if I tote it in a Benchmade bag in my pocket. The CRK sheath may be in my future. I already ordered and received the tool kit.

One thing mine has which I hadn't heard of before is 'IDAHO MADE' imprinted above the pivot on the frame lock side. I didn't see it on the first run pictures - is it particular to the second run? Is mine an anomaly?

The end result of this is simple - I am hooked. I see far fewer knife purchases in my future - but at least a couple more CRK's. Such quality is addictive.

Congratulations on your first purchase!

Now you need a Sebenza, and then a Mnandi, and then a Nyala, and then..

It becomes quite the addiction if you aren't careful, my friend! Hide your wallet now.

Congrats on your purchase and also on retirement! As for the "Idaho Made" I do believe that this wasn't on the first run, but appeared on the second run of the Zaan. I hate to say this, but CRK is quite addictive. You have a first great piece!!!
