Yesterday on the bay I "won" my first Camillus. I bought a Heat 3.65 assisted opening. Any thoughts out there even if I already bought it? I have been on this forum because my first "collection" is Western knives.

You are goimg to love the HEAT.One of the best 'modern day' knives Camillus ever built.Fast,good lockup and fits the hand well (at least my hand) and as I remember comes very-very sharp out of the box.

Good Collecting !

Not sure if it one of the made in spain ones or not. Where were the heat's made?

Camillus Heats were made in Taiwan by a GREAT maker for Camillus.
I travelled to Taiwan to help with the development.
The knives are marked Taiwan.

Some Chinese knock-offs were brought in after Camillus closed.
They were marked Spain! :thumbdn::barf:

Are you SURE this is your first "Camillus"?;)
I got a few Westerns from when they were owned by Camillus.....

True, Trent, but most of my Westerns have date marks. The ones without date marks are ones prior to 1977, I think. I even have a Coleman/Western knife w/box (W39M). I also have a W46-8N with no box. Camillus/Westerns would be from 1991, true?

I guess I forgot I have two CAMCO 229's and one Military Demolition Knife (US) (1981).
