Just had to share with everyone. Emailed my lecturer today and he told me the good news. I will be graduating with a First Class BSc. Forensic Science. One of the happiest days of my life.

I would also like to share with everyone another good news. My wife is 6 months pregnant with a babygirl. Things are all good now.

I'd like to thank everyone in this forum for keeping me occupied those times when i was not studying.

My dad told me he was going to get me something for my graduation and i was thinking an Omega SMP or some other watch so i will be posting some watch questions in Gadgets & Gear.

Thanks y'all and have a great day.

Congrats on both... Your life is fixin' to change (for the better) on becoming a daddy. Can't offer any advice on raisin' girls... I have two boys.

Good luck and remember Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, & when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Produce great rewards. Congrats !

Having raised 3 girls & 1 boy I learned quite a bit. You teach then the difference between right & wrong & set a good example but it actually boils down to a science experiment. You won't know if it's successful or not until it's too late to change any ingredients. I succeeded with 3 out of 4. One female was a muley rebel .
God bless you & family !

congratulations on both!!
best of luck.

I suggest that you do nothing but sleep for the next 3 months.

Congratulations and shaldag gave some great advice, you aren't going to get much sleep after that.

Thanks everyone....especially for the good advice.

Been busy these past few days. We've been having to do some baby shopping to get some stuff from the sales here in Malaysia as it's a lot cheaper than in the UK.

Anyway, got my graduation present. Well, my dad gave me money and i decided to buy my wife an Omega Constellation and myself a Planet Ocean. Will post photos in G&G.

Wonderful! Congratulations to you. Do the Brits still say "Good show, old boy"? If so, add that to the list. :)

Congrats! :D

Would one of our UK friends enlighten me on something? :) In the US, the honor earned at graduation is dependent on the grade point average- highest is Summa Cum Laude, then Magna Cum Laude, then Cum Laude. I've had friends attend school in the UK and talk about honors earned, and I can't link them up to a US equivalent. Can someone clue me in? :)

In the UK, you can either graduate with a First Class Honours,
Second Class Upper Honours, Second Class Lower Honours or Third Class Honours. First class probably being the equivalent of Summa Cum Laude.

So the difference is probably we have 4 classifications instead of the American's 3.

Congratulations! Fine achievements on both counts. Fatherhood is one of the best things that can happen to you. My wife is pregnant as I type, although its very early days.

Cheers, Acolyte.

Didn't want to start a new thread so just adding to this one.

Had my graduation yesterday.

I got some more great news. Not only did i score first class it turns out i was joint best student/performance with another girl. Even got a cheque for a small amount as part of the award.

I also found out i had one of the best dissertations. Going to get another cheque for that as well.

I didn't realise i was this nerdy until now.

Now i have to think of what to do with the money. The shopaholic in me wants to buy a knife or another watch but the brain is saying keep the money for the baby when it comes.

Thanks for everyones support.

That's great news!!! Congratulations on both the Summa Cum Laude and
the future daughter. Wish you all the best.

(Next thing ya know your going to be a Don) :D

Congrats man,

Ask you wife to take a photo of you sleeping and then frame it. That will bring back many memories, once your little baby arrives. I still have distant memories of a full night's sleep :D

CSI London!

Congratulations!

Congratulations again, point44!

In case you haven't already got them, we've got a new-born car seat and a three-way pram/carrycot/pushchair our little-un's grown out of. You can have them for a small consideration, we could meet off the m6. The pram's a good one, German.

Oh, and encourage your wife to breast-feed. You'll still get woken up in the night but at least you won't have to sit up for an hour and feed the little mite!! And invest in a walkman and some talking books (Quite cheap in The Works) so the feeder doesn't pass out with boredom.

Andy.
