Hey everyone, after not buying Cold Steel for ever, I think I want to try one. I was looking at either the medium Voyager or Mini tuff lite. I want a cheaper one at first, so that's why I like those two. Which would be better or any other cheap ones with a ~3" or less blade? Thanks.

Check out the Hold Out III, you can still find the AUS 8 version cheap right now. The lock will take time to break in, and you'll have to remove and adjust the clip but it's an awesome little knife.

Why is that, do you know?

No idea, but CS has confirmed that it's discontinued since 2015. Most logical guess is because of sales.
+1 on the Hold Out III, voyager may not be very ergonomic for people with bigger hand, due to that "bump" at the end of the handle. Tuff lite is great, i have 2, but i just prefer a longer blade.
If you are willing to spend 30+ dollars, and accept knife longer than 3 inches, Finn Wolf makes a good choice too.

+3 on Hold Outs. Got a II in my pocket right now. All 3 I have are the serrated versions that I've grinded the serrations off cause A.) Cheaper than plain edge , and B.) They have a thicker spine than plain edge. Which prefer.

Honestly in my top 5 folder design. So simple, so good.

Plenty of nice cheap stuff to choose from Cold Steel.

Cold steel in XHP under 100 is where it's at. That with the tri- ad lock blows away the competition with the same steel in terms of VALUE.

I feel CS is the Spyderco of the 1990's, offering innovation + premium steel at ultra affordable able prices.

I ordered a Ti Lite last December and was surprised how much I like it. I have a medium voyager coming in the mail within the next week; I think it's going to see a lot of carry time. I'm assuming that bump won't be a problem with my smallish hands. Also, I like the blade steel. I don't mind sharpening knives, and have a much easier time with AUS-8A than I do with D2 or VG10. I'm pretty excited for this one.
