you all have most been like me
had several bucks of some kind and used them
but at some time all of us here have made a transation
from acumtlating to collecting them

i had some ware of 25 to 30 users in differnt conditions
and the transation to me came when i bought my first cut out
the deer head prfile on a 2002 110
i bought it only to have and hold and show off
as i relised it was not a good useing withthe cut out in it

then i said the majic words man that one { a leaping deer cut out}
would be cool and they would make each other look better togeather!

it grew from there ...
but it was that one knife that was the change for ever to collector

what is your story that you are sticking to ?!?:D
was there a one knife that made the diffrence or was it more then that?

Dave,
I believe that there are collectors and then there is everyone else. Buck knives are not the only things I collect. I also collect coins and Books. I started out trying to get earlier and earlier 110's and finally just decided to collect all versions and variations of the 110. I recently expanded my Buck knife collecting to include 124's since I wasn't getting 110's as fast as I wanted to. :o So this is where I find myself today...wondering what and from where the next Buck knife will come from! :D

I started out with a 110 back in the 70's as a teen. Always remember some of the older scouts in my troop had either a 110 or 119. Both appealed to me.
Ended up with the 110 and have had one pretty much straight through since then. Maybe lost in a drawer or garage, but around somewhere.
For some reason, a couple of years ago, I ended up wanting a new 110. I started looking online and while at the auction site, noticed all the variations.
That took care of that.
Like Mike said, you either are a collector or you aren't. With that in mind; I also have a watch, Spam can, and ex-wife collection.
