Hi Everyone, I'm sharing some pics of my first knife project.

Admittedly I went through 3 sheath designs, 2 different finishes on the handle, and made many mistakes along the way, before I actually got to the finish line (laughing).

The Blade:
  • American made damascus (4 inch blade, 8 inch overall)
  • Redwood Burl scales, resin stabilized
  • Mosaic pins in copper, brass, and aluminum

As for the Sheath:
  • 9 oz Veg tanned sides
  • Water based dye (Eco-flo)
  • Water based edge-finisher from Tandy.
  • Heavy waxed Linen thread

This was great fun, I'm learning to make knives and sheaths as wedding gifts for the grooms-men: figured it would be an original and hand-crafted gift.

I'd love to get feedback from all of you on how I can improve the end result. I really want these to be as good as possible.

Thanks in advance for everyone's input. I'm grateful for such a generous group on the web.

Sorry for the photo quality, used my iPhone.

Regards,
David

That is beyond excellent for a first sheath in my opinion. The knife looks like something I'd buy. Good job!
