I completed this spoon three days ago and had it soaking in mineral oil until just a few minutes ago. It is still plenty wet - and I am sure it wont be so dark in a day or two - but this was the shots I got.

This started as a round of pine, I split it with a GB Small Splitter, battoned it and shaped it down to the fine details with the Arete and carved the bowl with a spoon knife. A little sand paper and Bob was my mothers brother.

Well done! I've been looking to make a spoon myself. What type of spoon knife do you recommend--Mora?

I'm impressed with the Arete--it's on my short list of Fiddleback knives to buy.

You could make a great spoon with a Mora. Of course the Arete is 44.35% better than the Mora.

You should know - however 84% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Nice spoon TF. Elegant arch in the handle. I'd say 100% better than no spoon at all.

Feldgrun,

OH - duh. Yes.

I assumed you meant the straight bladed Mora. I was just being stupid in comparing them - and the joke was obviously wrong headed. ;)

No problem--I still liked the joke, given that it was April Fools' Day. I'm still envious of your carving abilities. You obviously have excellent taste in knives, and make some beautiful sheaths.

That spoon looks awesome bro. You did a gret job with the bowl of that spoon.

Feldgrun,

The odd thing is that is my third spoon and I have no real experience in carving. I think just taking my time and setting it down when I get tired of it makes a difference.

Sweet!!! Use pics are gravy IMO.
