I just finished this one. Its a first for me. I've been diddlin' around w/ making knives and such for a little while now so I figured its about time to make something to put them in. Its 8-9 oz , didnt do the frog for it yet(does anyone have a good picture of the front and back of one?) Tandy eco-flow gel antique w/ fieblings dark brown airbrushed around edges. I found out the fieblings doesnt really like to penetrate through the gel antique, as it has some carnuba and acts as a slight resist. A little mottled on the front, But I think it worked out o.k.

Thanks for looking, Shawn

Very Nice! :)

Paul Long has some really nice pics of his frogs, I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

I've found that working the dyes first and then antiqe over that tends to get the best results. Though I've done it both ways depending on the effect I want.

Thanks folks, I appreciate it. Dwayne, I'll have to try the dyeing first on the next one.

Looks nice. I would have never guessed that was your first sheath. Way to go!

Wow- good thing you decided to keep it nice and simple for a first try! Seriously, nice work, but if that's how you start out, where do you go from here?!! I'd be happy to end up making sheaths that nice.

Thanks again guys, but like the title says: Its my first completed sheath:D. there were a couple that didnt cut it, so I scrapped them. You should have seen the first one I tried to harden, that wasnt pretty.

I don't do a lot of full frogs and then I forget to take pictures of the ones I've done, but these pictures might give you some help

Thanks a bunch Paul. I'm just guessing,Those look to be 2 piece with the seam for the front hidden under the belt loop.?

Butt joined in the back then belt loop goes front and back on the back joint secured by four double cap rivets. The belt loop completely covers the butt joint and hides it from view. The belt loop holds the frog together and the frog holds the belt loop. The whole thing is pre fitted to the mouth area of the sheath and then slips on over the toe up to the slot stop on the stud.
