First CRK!!!

Just got my first CRK it's a small Sebenza Insingo! It's actually a little bigger than I was expecting and I love it! It is absolute perfection! I just have one little question. I wasn't a fan of the lanyard so I untied it and took it off but now the lanyard pin rattles a little which bugs me. How should I prevent that? Take that pin out? And I tried to tie the lanyard the same way but I did a terrible job and it was loose and looked a little sloppy... Does anyone know how to tie the lanyard the same way? Regardless it's amazing to join the CRK community!
 
Take the knife apart and take the pin out.

Yes, it's the most absurd addiction that you'll ever battle. Once you start using the first, you will want more. Seven months ago I purchased a Umnumm and now I've added two more w/ a forth on the way. Good luck and enjoy the obsession.
 
Intelligent choice, the Small Insingo is the best all around knife in the CRK lineup.:thumbup:
A rattling pin can be silenced by a tiny drop of super glue.
 
Love the small insingo! I have a plain small insingo, micarta small insingo, and a plain large insingo.. Love the blade shape!
 
I have many, many sebenzas and my most carried is my small insingo with micarta inlays. I'm not a big fan of lanyards myself so the first thing i usually do is take the knife apart and remove the lanyard pin with the lanyard still attached. If i ever sell all i have to do is disassemble the knife and pop the lanyard pin back in and it's complete.
 
CRK has a "how to tie a lanyard" instruction on their site somewhere. You can also put a piece of cord through the hole in the pin, cut both ends, then burn them to seal the fray and it will prob stop the rattle.

I always remove the lanyards. I have never had a small pin rattle though. The large pins fall out if you don't use the cut cord trick I mentioned above.
 
Nice choice for your first of many:thumbup: read up or watch some videos on how to take the knife apart and give it a go! You can see all the pieces and take they lanyard pin out.

A large 21 CF Insingo will arrive tomorrow from KA, and a used, but LNIB 25 in a few more days....I got bit by the CRK bug before my first one even arrived.

Congrats on your first CRK!

I always remove the tampon strings, errrr I mean lanyards from my CRK knives as well. Taking the pin out is always the easiest way to stop the rattle.
