I decided that I wanted a christmas break project, and I found a Cold Steel SRK blank for cheap. Picked that up and some micarta handles.
After weeks of waiting, I started the project....
Carved out the micarta.
great fit!
Cut my self... It seems like its mandatory.... (but if this is all i get with this project, ill be happy)
Polished the sides and sanded it down
Then I decided to re-profile the blade started grinding
Blade done minus sharpening.
Jimping....
DAY 2
Lots more done today. nearly complete.
Epoxied in....
(sorry i didnt get pics of carving the micarta, it was a pain and took me a loooooong time. It also didnt turn out quite the way I wanted it to, but I still like it.)
after some oil - (it was really uneven before oil, but the pics make it look better. now after the oil, the pics dont do it justice)
Still more sanding and oil... maybe. Also might wrap the middle in paracord to add to the grip. Then comes the sheath
