Hey JK fans! I placed an order with John this morning for my first ever custom knife. It will be a mud turtle and I'm sure it won't be the last one I order! I made it through the 72 pages of the JK picture thread before making my decision. Thanks everyone for sharing!

I wanted to support someone local for something custom, and these happen to be some of the best looking and functioning blades I've seen on BF

This addiction will continue! I'm happy to say that John has made many knives for me over the years. Enjoy yours.

Thanks for another warm welcome! I did check that thread out and I've been checking back to see more feedback. That thread is the reason I decided on the turtle for my first JK. Seems like a good bunch of guys in the JK sub forum

There definitely is.
Welcome aboard.

John's Heat Treat is spot on and you will come to trust it in time. Trust me, I don't want to say that I didn't trust him or his work but Every Knife that I get in hand has to earn my trust.

That being said, John's knives are absolutely fantastic. What sealed the deal for me was the abuse I put Canadian Belt Knife through, after an afternoon batonning pine knots open for fatwood with no edge damage, I was sold.

Again, welcome and enjoy John's hospitality and knives. They are both some of the best around.

I have yet to order a JK knife, hopefully after I get this wedding all set and paid for. The mud turtle was an excellent choice! I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy the knife.
