Here's a little dagger I just finished. This is my first dagger, and first attempt at inlay work. The knife is 7" overall length, with a satin finished blade of D2 steel. The handle material is African Blackwood, with freshwater mother of pearl inlays from the Concho River near San Angelo, TX. I fashioned the inlay pieces from raw shells, like the one in the picture. Consider this the forerunner of a major "skunk works" project my brother and I are working on.

Thanks for the kind words. I've realized a bit of a dilemma on this one.... I didn't leave enough ricasso for my maker's mark. I'm thinking I'm stuck putting it on the blade bevel in the "traditional" spot, as my stencil isn't small enough nor the spine thick enough for a mark on the tang.

I bet nobody will ever be able to guess what kind of fur the thing is laying on in your pic, but I KNOW.
