First Damascus

I just finished posting 3 pictures (throughout my site, http://menbers.home.net/thknives ) of the first Damascus steel I ever forged. Rick Dunckerley tought me at the Northwestern Canadian Knifemakers Symposium, this summer.
I have never forged before and he walked me through the process very success-fully.
I call it my happy face damascus, it is actually a basket weave pattern - the happy face

that's me.
