I got a commander last week from a internet dealer and the blade rubbed the liners which rubbed the black coating. I tried to adjust the blade with no luck. I returned the knife in person but the dealer was out of commanders for me to sample. He is ordering me another and shipping it to me. I've heard about some quality problems from Emerson in the past. Should I be worried about the new one comming or have the quality issues been resolved?

I've found the major cause for the blade coming into contact with the liners is a loose pivot pin. Try tightening it up a bit. It will be a bit firm to start out with but it will eventually come smooth and the blade should sit firmly between the liners.

Cheers

Well, I bought a bts Commander this week from www.botachtactical.com. I placed the order on tuesday morning and had the blade in my hot little hands by wednesday afternoon. I've bought a few items from this place in the past and their service is second to none!
Anyway, my new Commander is superb. Function and finish of this thing is very close to perfect. I own quite a few tactical folders, some expensive, some not, and my daily carry blade for the past year or so has been a Cold Steel Gunsite II,.....but it is now being retired in favor of my new Commander.
Good luck, Sniper. I hope your dealer gets you a Commander as nice as the one riding inside of my waistband.

I have a good satin finish commander for sale on the exchange forum.
