i've seen posts of folks complaining about poor fit and finish and such. been reading these for years.....and other knives always caught my eye, so i never bought one to try it for myself. by accident........the cqc15 caught my eye.......had to have it and try it out. now i regret having waited all these years. fit and finish is perfect. as good, if not better as other makers i own in the same price range on my version. i can't find a flaw anywhere on it, not that i care as i use my knives and they get scratched up/banged up a bit anyways from normal non-abusive use. no safe queens here.

now i ordered a cqc13.....kinda glad there isn't more models i like based on looks only or i'd be adding another.....

guess lesson i learned here is to take what i read into account, but judge based on getting my own experience......

edit part.....question.....the nytralon(spelling?) washers....any issue using lube on them? thank y'all.....

I'm a big emerson fan, even though I only own two, and have been consistently satisfied with their fit and finish! If you're not trying to be nit-picky, the finish is just fine! I've never seen (not saying there aren't any) actual structural problems stemming from a scale not being 100% flush with the liner. Thats the biggest gripe I've heard about emerson's, and to me its purely aesthetic and an aesthetic that isn't significantly off enough for me to care. Enjoy!

Emersons are made to do one thing... work. And they do it as well as any knife, prod or custom, that I've ever had. My mini-15 is the one folder I have that I'll do anything with. Everything else, Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, CRK, I always feel like I need to fit the knife to the task. If I want something for "whatever, wherever, without fail", I pocket my mini-15.

I use BM's Blue Lube on my mini-15 pivot about once a year. They actually don't need anything, I just do that because it's a habit.

Nylatron washers are self-lubricating and are both corrosion resistant and chemically inert so you can apply whatever lube you normally use, but they don't need any. I've had no reason to replace the ones that came with my Emersons and feel that they break in better.

Thanks for the feedback on my washer question y'all. Reason I asked was mine squeak. Didnt before I washed with hot water and soap after getting some mess in there while using it. So I thought some lube would eliminate the squeaking....and it did.....then dawned on me I should verify. Thanks for the feedback across the board. Appreciated.
