First Emerson! Got stains?

Hi Room,

just got my first Emerson, a CQC-7BW, and I love it! I've been putting of buying one for a couple of years because I didn't know what to make of the chisel grind, and love that too. Love the wave, everything basically. It's bound to replace my Spydie Military as EDC.

Small question though: both on the spine and on the grind there seem to be some minor stains, more specks if you will, that do not seem to come off with (wet) cloth. I do not have easy access to Miracle Cloth or anything like that. Any suggestions?

Again, it's very minor and not a real problem; I'd live, but I though I'd ask.

Thanks, Paul

Try a little WD-40 on a cloth. If that doesn't work... can you live with it?

Lol..

Alright, a stained satin stone washed blade it is..

WD40 didn't do the trick, so I might have to learn to live with it. Not a problem, again, it's really quite minor. Still lovin' it though, and already cut myself with it.. usually it takes days of playing with a new knife before I manage that feat!

Thanks guys.

Maybe he is talking about the brownish colored discolorations that many of us see on the new stonewashed finish that is normal. Those don't come off.

Well, whatever I was talking about (on the bevel by the way, not on the stonewashy part), I managed to remove eventually by just rubbing the hell out of it with a soft scourer type of device (don't know the exact name, English vocab still limited).

Anyway they're gone, so thanks for all the input.

Still loving the knife!

Thanks, Paul
