Looking to broaden my horizons once again and I've been considering an Emerson knife. Which Emerson would you hardcore fans suggest getting as my first? I googled some models and so far the one I like best is the CQC 7B non waved but I really have no clue when it comes to Emerson so would like some help and suggestions. Thanks.

Spyderco Military.

sorry, I couldn't help myself. CQC-8 is very popular. CQC-10 if you like deployment holes. are you set on getting a non-waved version?

 on military.

I dont really care if its waved or not. Purely aesthetic to me and I can get over it. CQC 8 looks pretty good.

None. Spend your money elswhere. BUT, if the CQC-8 had a Tri-Ad or lockback lock on it I'd get it. I love the way that knife looks. One of the best looking knives made to this day.

Mini CQC-15

A super knife.

I love the Spyderco Military. It's a tremendous cutter in a lightweight package. You couldn't go wrong with one.

If you're thinking Emerson, then I think CQC-7B would take good care of you. Being a sucker for titanium frame locks, I'd also like to point out the HD-7.

CQC-15 is so ergonomic and wicked , the cqc7 however is also an amazing knife and easier to sharpen. I would also recomend the cqc-13 its an amazing blade and easy to sharpen. If you want something a lil bit more sheeple friendly then get the cqc7b waved for sure. you gotta have at least one waved emerson. :)

I kinda like the way the A100 looks. I'd snag one too if I didn't have such a bad experince with the Super 7 I had.

sebebnza,

Well no cause the OP asked about Emerson. I've got cqc-10 only, but so far I can't replace it as my EDC, and I've been seriously trying hard.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I think I'm leaning toward the cqc 7. What is the F&F and lock up like on Emersons? I've read lots of conflicting opinions on this matter and I dont really care if it doesnt have uber F&F like my Sebenza but would like a general idea of how tight everything is on the knife.

I had the CQC-7, just couldn't come around to the tanto blade and opted to go with the SOCKF-A instead. It pretty much has the same grip but I prefer to blade shape better. Personally, I don't think you can really go wrong on any Emerson as well as a lot of other brands spoken of on this forum. The posters here are pretty honest and sincere on helping someone find the right blade with their own reviews. I've taken the word on quite a few of the folks on here and never yet got a bum steer on a blade purchase. If it's a lemon, you'll for sure read about it being one on here too!
