First Emerson - Roadhouse ( + more on the way)

I got my first Emerson in yesterday. It's a standard edged, v-grind Roadhouse. I must say I am pretty happy/impressed.

Hefty, nice grippy scales, opens very easy with the thumb disc, sharp (interesting V grind/chisel grind combo), and centered. I am very happy with the construction/materials when looked at in relation to the price. I also like that it is inconspicuous when clipped in my pocket, and while it has the weight I like, it is not a boulder in my pocket. I like the simplicity, functionality, and plainness of it - while I do enjoy interesting blades (san mai, damascus) I am a plain handle kind of guy (black, CF).

The price also makes it a no brainer for EDC. While I expect it to last a long time, at this price I have no issues beating it up and if the need ever arises, buying a new one. I tend to buy knives that are impractical as EDC options - knives that would work just fine but that are price prohibitive for carrying in all situations or traveling with. This one gives me none of those concerns.

And since I never do anything slowly or in a reasonable way, I have a Barracuda coming today, and a Super Roadhouse Custom coming tomorrow. I'll add a picture when I have all three.

Welcome on board. I applaud your inclination to use your Emerson - in use their real "beauty" becomes evident. I too like the Roadhouse, and even more so the Super Roadie.

Those have seen some use!

Got the Barracuda in. Like that blade shape nearly as much as the Roadhouse.

Welcome aboard Shipmate.
They are certainly like Lays Potato Chips!
The Roadhouse, like other Emersons, is a very useful blade that can suit the SD role of need be.

Officer's Match, your pics ... oh my, I need a cigarette and a rest!

Thats the Roadhouse I should have today, except it's a Super with the Handmade/Skull stamp.

It won't replace the regular Roadhouse in my pocket right now, but I do think it will get carried.

I actually have a CounterStrike coming. And I just bought 2 older non-waved folders off the forum. The nice thing is minus the customs, Emersons are pretty affordable compared to most of the knives I buy.

But yeah, the Bulldog interests me - I'd have to see how I felt about the handle though, looks huge.

I no longer have a Bulldog, but let me know if you want to handle my old (well loved) CQC-10; they have a similar grip shape.
