First Emerson??!??

So, what was your first Emerson? Did you go for the gusto and start with a custom or Commander? Or did you start out cheap like me with a mini CQC7B?

Back when handle colors were an option my firste was a TRUE satin,part serrated,tanto,GRAY HANDLED,raven. Hounded Mary for about four months with calls twice a week"Has it shipped yet?" I often wounder where that knife is today. It was my first trade when I found bladeforums.

First Emerson ordered was a CQC6 in like 1994/1995ish I think.

First Emerson designed piece purchased was a BM CQC7 beadblasted finish when they came out.

First EKI was a 98 Commander in 1998

I have been wanting an emerson for some time and
i was wondering if i should go with a commander
was wondering if you could help make up my mind
is it a good knife and is it worth it


I live here in vero beach florida and pretty much all
i have ever collected is microtechs the factory is right

The more Commanders the better! As far as starting with the Commander?? Why not IMO, you can't get a more ergonomic handle or a more utilitarian blade. The Commander is one of the few blades that I REALLY regret trading. I can't wait to get another.

My first Emerson was a BM CQC7 also....followed by a Commander, then a PSARK, then a La Griffe, then a SOCFK, and a Mini Commander...no customs....yet

Second was a LaGriffe.

A few weeks ago I received my NIB 2000 Commander satin. I love it!!

Had the Comm in my hands multiple times & for some reason never bought one. For years my EDC was a Spydie Wegner & I was pretty damned loyal to that knife. My mini-Comm rides in my pocket 95% of the time now- love it- a full-sized Comm in Very High on my list as soon as cashflow improves again.
