First English full review - Dozier K30.

Thanks for the review, it was very interesting to read about your take on Dozier's D2.

I wonder if I will ever have the means to see for myself if that D2 is all you say it is.......It might be real worth it!:foot:

Very informative review. I have 4 dozier knives, and I noticed the same thing: they have the best edge holding ability among all my knives. Dozier makes something fantastic with D2: I have the 710 in D2, reground to the same angle as the Doziers, and, while not being bad, it simply can't compare with them.

Very nice review!!!!!

I've been a Dozier cheerleader for many years now, and can't see myself ever not being one. Bob is the real deal. Some makers are able to design very functional knives. Some have very good heat treatment of their steel. Some make good sheaths. Bob is one of the very very few who are able to do everything, and at a surprisingly low cost.

Your Dozier is wonderful. That color of micarta is gorgeous. The edge thickness of my Dozier K-4 (Doris) is very similar to yours. I measured it out at .015", using a vernier scale the other day. That is some wicked cutting efficiency in a fixed blade.

As for the incredible edge holding of Bob's D2, it really is amazing. You would think that his D2 might be a little bit too brittle at that level of edge holding, but it really is not. I think that my K-4 has only had one tiny little chip over the years. And that was from hacking my way though a walleye's backbone while on a concrete boat landing. The knife sailed through the walleye and smacked the concrete very hard. Even then, the chip was very small.

I'm itching for another Dozier, but just can't make up my mind on what to get. I like my convex ground K-1 so much, that I may got for a hollow ground K-1 next.

Интересная статья, классные фотки, хороший перевод! Так держать!

That is a very nice review of a very nice blade. Thanks to Sodak I got to use a Dozier and the craftsmanship and performance is incredible. I really love a fullheight hollow grind, and it is nice to see a .015" thick hollow ground edge on a blade that size. Definately a formula for excellent cutting performance.

Nice review Vassili. After reading it I can't help but ask myself......"why don't I own a Dozier ?"

.....I do too Mike ! I often read posts on the forums here which express a contrary opinion. Bob Loveless also was fond of the hollow grind. :)
