I want to say thank you.
I am waiting to see the "Help Ron" thread reopened..in the meantime, I just wanted to say that, the original post, to that thread, got me choked up...Ron Hood is one of my heros..I love his DVD's, and I pray for his speedy recovery. Hearing about his fight is tough, having lost loved ones to this terrible disease....
He's a tough mother..and I bet he beats the snot outta this disease..but no matter what..your spirit of giving..and your selfless request has won me over..my next knife, AFTER I buy something from Ron Hood, is an ESEE..
I know this isnt what you were after..but this type of behavior counts for something to me, as I expect, it means something to alot of the survival and wilderness community.
ESEE is a class act of the HIGHEST order..I will never allow your company to be questioned in my presence..and I am a mean SOB, so I can back this up.
God bless, thank you ESEE, and I hope everyone here has a fantastic Christmas.
Spark..open the other thread up..rules be damned. Ron Hood designs knives, and does something to make people BUY them..this keeps this place ticking...IMO.

gunknifenut, you will have to visit more often. Very true, there are a bunch of great guys on this forum that I have learned from in just the two months I have been here. It's like having your own personal library everytime you need it . . . :)
When Mr. Hood beats this thing, stop back & we will raise one in his honor with the rest of the guys. Our prayers are with him as well. Godspeed.
Merry Christmas,
Be safe.

Thanks for being here and thanks for your words. Please understand that I personally elected to lock that thread until I hear from the powers that be on BFs. Just want to make sure everything is kosher.

I'm with you. I looked at their store and considered making a purchase but would rather see some sort of route to make a direct donation.

Can't really grasp where or how this isn't against the rules... If it's written somewhere - "one cannot solicit for the contribution of support of an individual within a subforum of a subforum...." maybe it's time to take a re-look at the "rules". I can understand an effort to prevent one yahoo from coming up with some elaborate sob story about another yahoo to solicit funds from good people, but a known contributor asking for support of another "known" figure/role model/mentor.....

Will continue to watch for when a PP link is opened up.

P.S. Laughed my ass off about "mitochondria"... Hang in there Ron!

Gene, its good to have you here bro. You are a mean sob, but luckily I get to call you a friend.
Ron and his family are in my prayers.

I'm an ESEE and bladeforum newb. From what I've encountered so far this forum has a good bunch of people. I've never met the man or even know about his influence in the world of survival. But I too would like to make a direct donation.

We have had similar things go on over at xdtalk. Great bunch of guys over there as well. The former owner of xdtalk, Mark Craighead of Crossbread Holsters is a real class act himself. Great guy. We have helped friends in need as well. Currently we have a member who's family life has been turned upside down and a paypal account has been set up for direct donations. Mark is matching up to $600/month for every $600/month xdtalk members raise combined. Every little bit helps.

ESEE has a customer for life right here.

I just wanted to say welcome to the ESEE newcomers. I've been collecting and using knives since I was a kid, and I've dealt with just about all the "major" brands out there. And I've yet to find a company that even comes close to what Jeff and the guys are doing. They not only make amazing knives, but they back them with one of the best guarantee's in the business. Not to mention they seem to genuinely love making knives and dealing with their customers, and listening to their input and concerns. They are all around a major class act, and I recommend them to anyone that asks me about buying a knife that is worth the money. You'd be hard pressed to find a better company out there today to deal with, or better guys than Jeff and the team.

And my thoughts and prayers go out to Ron and his family..... Here's to a speedy recovery.

I read RAT's post about Ron not wanting charity. So I'll be purchasing my first video from him. Urban Survival.
