Just broke down and ordered my first ESEE knife a HEST. I have only handled a RAT for about 8 seconds in a store and I love it so I hope its all you guys make it out to be.:)

I'm pretty sure you're gonna be happy with it. I was really impressed with my 5 when it came.

I assume your not married? I'll like a H.E.S.T. one day also. :(

Yeah i'm married. I am buying this hoping I will be home to answer the door when the mailman comes. If not i'll deal with the BS from the wife, I know there will be. She hasn't found out about the Fallkniven A1 I bought before Christmas, hoping this will be the same.

I unintentionally found a solution to this problem a while back. I bought a surprise gift for my wife and as she usually does, she opened the package when it arrived. Well, she felt bad that she found out about it before I had a chance to give it to her. Now, she never opens anything with my name on it, unless the package contents are obvious. Of course, that means I have to buy random gifts all the time to keep it up. :D

On a more serious note, I just bought my first ESEE knife as well. Went with the RC-6 to bring camping and whatnot. I'm excited to see if they are as good as these guys say they are. Based on what I've read, I'm seeing more ESEE knives in my future.

Thats a good system I'll have to remember that on the next Ex-Mrs. Crockus

That is awesome, fortunately my wife NEVER gets the mail. And we have only been married just under 2 years so she still doesn't quite know what I already had versus what is new. But I got her a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm, a pink Izula, and pink mini-grip, and she said she wanted a buck metro the other day for her keychain. My purchases may be far apart but I have a mostly clear conscience and she is pretty supportive. She even tried like hell to get me some of the arrowheads before my birthday back in January.

Ain't that nice to have a wife that support how hobbies? I am as lucky as you on this Spenceds

My wife doesn't check the mail either. She got to the point where she doesn't want to hear about my knives or guns so I don't bother telling her anymore. In return, I don't ask about her toddler clothes and amazon book purchases.

Congrats man, it's worth the wait and dating process. LOL when I was dating I used to take the girl shooting for a date and depending on how she acted it was a deal maker/breaker. Sorry I just don't see the point in settling or just going for looks, even though I found one that is gorgeous. No point in being miserable for the rest of your life or trying to hide your hobbies to please your wife.

Great minds must think alike. lol. That was usually my date #2 or 3. My wife and I haven't been married very long either. As long as the bills and necessities are paid for and some money goes into the savings account, we are both ok with spending a little money on our hobbies. Of course, she doesn't understand why I get excited about a knife and I can't figure out why she enjoys riding a horse around in circles. :D

I told my other half that the ESEE4 was a birthday gift to myself - no BS. You can buy a knife for yourself every year (on your birthday of course) :D
Uh...forgot to tell you that we've been married for 17 years and she finally got sick of bitchin' at me on my toys. I must have bought 4 knives since last month and still have my balls intact.

I've bought a Cold Steel Natchez Bowie, a Emerson Super Commander, a Emerson Super Karambit, a Fallkniven A1 and now a ESEE HEST in the last 6 months....I told her about the HEST today and she said nothing. When my wife says nothing it means I get nothing for about a week and everything will be fine, i've figured that out over the last five years of marriage. The problem I have now is what knife do I get next:D
