Here is my first attempt at an exotic inlay.I think it turned out ok.I learned a lot and am sure I can do a little better on the next one.The knife is a 1095 and Sambar Stag hunter I forged with brass and red spacers.

Any opinions and tips appreciated. Thanks Mr Long for all the advice.I can't wait to get your DVD's.http://

Very nice job on both pieces! They complement each other very nicely.

I can't help but wonder if you made the retention strap so it can be replaced if need be. Minor detail......

Again, I like LOTS!!

Paul will be proud.;)

I could replace the strap but not without taking it apart.Any good ideas in that area?

There are several mistakes on this one but I did learn a lot making it.

Nice job, RH. Ray, that belt loop rolls over from back to front and is tucked in between the sheath front and the rest of the back. The retention strap is tucked between the front and back half of the belt loop. The bad news is it would be hell to replace. The good news is it wants to swing back out of the way when you unlatch it.

If this rig is to be a user, the strap will get nicked up some, no avoiding it.
So a good idea is to instll it so it's kinda easy to replace when it starts looking too nicked up......may or may not happen......depends on how much it's used.

Again, minor detail.

I am still trying to keep my leather clean enough to make a sheath I don't need to dye black.
You have done a great job on this one.
