First False Edge Finished

Well here she is... all etched and ready for handles :)

That's a great looking blade Brian. Congradulations on your first false edge. There are many ways people do it. How did you do it? I really love the way you do your temper lines. Maybe someday you can share your technique with me.

I profiled the blade, ground the primary edge, then the false edge...false edge up.
Heat Treated then repeated the grinding again. It wasnt too bad.....
 
Thanks Brian, but I meant your heat treating procedure and how you get those nice consistent temper lines that I think is really nice.

What are the dimensions?
Its about a 1 1/2 " wide blade...7" to 71/2" long. I'll have to measure :)

I use an Oxy/Aced torch to get the lower region to temp and quench the whole blade.
 
The guys out here would love it B~. The whole town is FULL of hunters. I'm glad we made reservations :)

YEAH!!! I wife came in the shop when I was working on it and I was like...Not NOW!!!!!
