First few sheaths

Just decided to start making sheaths for all my knives a few months ago.

These are all handmade with 9-10 oz leather from Tandy's leather. The dark sheath (the first I made) is leather from Amazon. Made a hiking knife for my girlfriend from an old kitchen knife. Surprisingly great.

I use hemp for the stitching and stone beads.

Let me know what you think! Any criticism is appreciated!

There is a traditional earthiness to these that I really like , also the knives are really cool
I hope the bug has bitten deep and these wont be your last sheaths .

Thanks ken, I love it. It's how I've been spending my nights after work.

The knives are an Ontario butcher I put patina on, eventually will carve some scales for them.

The Bowie is an Sabre Japan 631 "Orignal Bowie" that I found and refinished it with a patina and some carved scales.

I actually really like the small utility knife the best. For a kitchen knife it is surprisingly cool.

Thanks again

Very nice. Where do you get your stone beads? Don't give up this art.

Thanks Mike. I get them from wherever I can find cool old jewelry. Thrift stores are great places to look.

I have some from all over the world tho. Family members would travel and always bring me back beads from different countries.

I appreciate the compliments

Always a good find at a thrift store. Vintage jewelry is the best for unique beads and stones

Hey! Cool work. :)

I love the beads. I'm with Ken, I hope you stick with it. Make sure you try to improve one thing (or more) on each successive project.

I have the same Ontario. Got it at the swap meet for a couple of bucks. The idea was to put a new handle on it and make a bird and trout or wharncliffe or something, but my wife commandeered it for kitchen use. One of her very favorite knives. Oh well. :)

Thanks so much. That's awesome to me you like my work. It's time consuming and challenging, but I keep getting better

It's a solid knife. Very versatile for what it is. I'll eventually make a new handle for it. Sharpens up really nice as well.

Thanks again! I'll put up more as I make them.
