Here's one I really like. I should have tapered the handle but other than that I love the feel and the balance is right around the point between the first and second finger. It's O-1, 1/4" steel,9 1/4" OAL and 5 1/4" blade, hardend to RC 59, etched with FC and rubbed out for just a light grey. Scales are black micarta, pinned with nickel, sanded to 400 grit then buffed lightly to a semi-gloss finish. Let me know what you think!

I like that blade style. i would have made the butt of the handle a bit beefier, but it looks darn good:thumbup:

Thanks for all the comments guys! I appreciate the support. I find myself refining my style a little more with every blade. Hopefully one of these days I'll actually have some worthy to post for sale and recoup some of the money from supplies...

Erik, you and I are in the same boat. I say that you can sell that one now, but if I made it, I probably woud think the same way you do. You might say the same thing about the KITH knife I have posted on here. I am almost hesitant to even give it away...lol. These folks on here have set the bar very high. If you want to get encouraged, drop by a local knife or gun show and see if you can find some guys who have been doing it longer than you. You will find guys selling stuff that doesn't look nearly as as good as that knife. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that at Blade or one of the other big shows..........can you say "curl up in the fetal postion and suck your thumb?" lol.

JDM,
I really like the KITH. Love the handle. When did you start out? I think I saw a few of your early item but not sure. Anyhow, yea, my girlfriend said that I'd have a hard time parting with anything I made. But I'll have to get over it otherwise I'll have a wall full of knives!

I first started messing around inthe Spring of "05 and tried to get serious after Balde'05, but then I had to take off from January until october of '06. So a total of semi-serious part time dabbling of about 15 months. I think that I tried to make like 70-75 or so the first go around. I only have 5 of the old ones left and none are suitable for public consumption. The rest got screwed up early on in the grinding process. I have probably tried at least 15-20 since I started up again and of the last 10 that I have tried since the first of the year, I am happy with 5 of them (3 finished, 2 in progress), so the percentages are getting better.
