I was jogging past a pretty much over estate sale, (I wish I knew earlier about it.) and they said everything outsides free.
I was digging through a can and came up with this little classic.Aside from the small stais here and there(patina), and a very slight shrinkage of the celluloid wrap this things like new. I'm a bit smitten.Although seemingly cheaply made, theres a quality about the way they made these knives.Just a different process

The Imperial Jackmaster knives were damn good knives for the money...1095 carbon blades well heat treated. The handles being shells were well shaped as on tradiational pocketknives costing much more.

The blades are tight as any well made knife, as well as the crinks and lay in. I have a feeling this one will see some pocket time. Being in Massachusetts you tend to see the Imperials all over the place.

Not to drift away from traditionals, bit the Leatherman Juices use the same process to a degree. Theres nothing flimsy about them.

For years I've passed them by at antique stores and such, usuallly because of their condition and higher than average price, but you can still find them cheap.

That's a cool find.

Note to self: canvas yard sales.

Imperial was of course in Providence but they got their start in Attleboro, MA before they set up shop in RI.

Man, I never have luck like that! Congrats!

It pays to look to the bottom of coffee cans. My biggest find was a Samual Barlow on the bottom of a wooden pail. Looking back, I should have taken the whole pail.
It brought the bug back anyways.
