I have a number of traditional fixed blades. I havent shared any until now since I usually do this from the office and most of my fixed blade knives are large. This one is different. Its a custom by Paul Inman. I had this made for me 20 years ago. Its a mini camp bowie and I have only used it to clean Red (Sockeye) salmon. I have cleaned and prepared dozens of salmon with this knife. Its 1095 steel 4 1/4 inch blade. Desert Ironwood handle scales. Tapered tang (my favorite style) and a long clip style blade. Its convex grind and it holds an amazingly sharp edge. Paul really knows how to heat treat. He only forges as well so this is a foged blade.

It did have some small bit of patina but in my youth I didnt appreciate it so I continually cleaned it off. So it still shines like a new penny.

Looks like an excellent all-rounder. I'm especially fond of the pointy clip and the ergonomic looking handle.

Paul studied with Moran so his designs have a tendency toward the Moran style blade. I have an 11 1/2 inch bowie that he called a "Fighter Bowie" with fiddleback maple scales. I have actually felled small trees with that knife with no damage whatsoever. I need a good sheath for it though.
