Here is RayC just after he laid out this bunch of old khukuris from his collection and everything was still straight and orderly because nobody had showed up yet. Needless to say things did NOT stay straight and orderly. Ray is wearing two khukuris and his HI T-shirt.

Many thanks, Brother, for the great job and great help.

Let me second Uncle Bill in lauding the great job Ray did in hosting this event.

Ray, let's hook up again soon.

Bill, what about this HI t-shirt Ray's wearing? Is this an old item or perhaps a new one for the convention?
As with khuks and other knives, a fellow can never have too many t-shirts.

New item for the convention, Jance. We sold all of them but maybe Gelbu can get some more made. Standard T-shirt with crossed khukuris and H on top of cross and I on bottom. If you look closely you can see it.

Still can't get over what a good time we had.

Depends where and when....the earlier a site and time is decided upon, the more likely I'll show....and tell Jim why he has HIKV

Looks like I'll have to come up the week before and grab anything nice.

The early bird gets the khukuri, Rusty. But, I hope you don't wait until the next convention to stop by. Our new place is about 4 blocks from old one but just as easy to find. Let me know when you are coming and I'll send directions. We are just down Moana from our mailing service a couple of blocks.

That would be another good excuse to see some more country and get to Phoenix to see our kids again as well as meet up with Dave K. and the rest of the gang out there.

Oh and speaking of the rest of the gang has anyone heard from Dan K.lately?
It's been quite a while since he posted.
I know Dan has health problems like the rest of us, probably worse than some, and pray that he's still doing okay.
Dan had a lot of good knowledge he shared with us.

Thats a fine display of khukuri's Ray. How many made it to the convention. Considering the snowy conditions here I wish I could have made it.

Maybe we'll try to get a couple of Nepali dancers and a couple of cooks over from Nepal and do the Reno convention up right this year. If I can find a local shop with a forge maybe we'll bring a couple of kamis for demo work.

Will, I figure we had about a dozen guys show up. On Sunday a fellow drove down from Titusville to visit -- about a 4 hour drive I'm guessing. He's a 12 year customer and good pal who met Ray and me when we were at the SOF show in 91 or 92.

Uncle,

Let me suggest doing one here in Southern Arizona- at a location with great scenic beauty, well populated with choice local fauna, a place where a man will sleep with his khukuri clenched in his teeth.

Uncle,

It wouldn't be too bad higher up, and bigger critters too. You, Yangdu and the gang could hop in that 1972 El Camino 402 cid and make it down here in no time. I'm thinking a guest ranch or b&b with meeting room could be economical and provide an interesting, healthy alternative to the typical urban hotel. Just imagine having some real acreage for 'em to run wild on!
